Family formula!
You are a family You are a large group and you want to enjoy the activities offered by the Cité des Tanneurs together?
This formula is made especially for you! You will learn everything there is to know about leather while sharing a special moment with your child.
A sensory and creative discovery
A moment to be shared in duo parent-child to make an object: bag jewel, sheath, etc...
Everyone will find their place by making a part of the object, the simplest for the child and the most technical for the parent.
In the end we work with four hands to bring all the parts together. A third person can be added.
Where has the cow gone?
The activity begins with a 30-minute sensory discovery where parent and child learn, through an interactive quiz, about the history of leather from prehistoric times to today's alternatives (fish leather, mushroom leather, pineapple leather, etc.).
After getting to know the material, the pair will make two leather objects: a medieval bag or purse + a leather bracelet.
Example of task distribution for the bag jewellery:
Adult mission :
- cut the base of the pompom out of leather
- accompany the child in tracing the fringes of the pompom and cut them out
Children's mission :
- draw the outline of the rectangle used as a base for the pompom and then the fringes
- make the bead decoration
Joint action:
- assemble the ring, the pompom and the bead decoration
Duration: 1h30 to 2h - from 6 years old accompanied by an adult
